Watford winger Adlene Guedioura decided against making a move to Sheffield Wednesday on deadline day, according to reports
Sheffield Wednesday enjoyed a fruitful January transfer window where they were able to strengthen their squad with the signings of high profile players such as Aiden McGeady, Gary Hooper and Joe Bennett among others.
The business that Wednesday have conducted in January certainly makes them serious contenders to earn one of the playoff positions this season and manager Carlos Carvalhal can be reasonably pleased with the squad at his disposal.
However, it can now be revealed that Carvalhal did not entirely enjoy a successful January transfer window as he missed out on the signing of Watford winger Adlene Guedioura.
Guedioura has struggled for regular minutes on the pitch at Watford this season and although the winger has made 10 Premier League appearances; he has spent only a total of 49 minutes on the pitch throughout.
As a result, it was widely believed that Guedioura would be leaving Watford during the January transfer window but such a move eventually did not come into fruition.
Now according to reports emerging out of Algeria, it can be revealed that Guedioura had been approached by Sheffield Wednesday but the former Crystal Palace man rejected the move as he did not want to make a move to the north of England.
