Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday set to make a swoop for Fiorentina’s Sporting Director Valentino Angeloni, according to reports
Sheffield Wednesday missed out on promotion to the Premier League in excruciating fashion following a defeat by Hull City in the final but despite the disappointment, it has to be said that there are a lot of positives for the Owls to look back upon from the campaign.
Wednesday mounted a promotion challenge that no one really expected while they also kept hold of manager Carlos Carvalhal’s services, amid interest from a number of Premier League outfits.
Now Wednesday will be going through a rebuild during the summer and a number of players have already been linked with a move to Hillsborough during the past few weeks.
Carlos Carvalhal to be assisted by Angeloni in transfers?
According to recent reports, it can be revealed that Wednesday are looking to make a major signing at boardroom level as well by acquiring the services of Fiorentina Sporting Director Valentino Angeloni.
Angeloni is one of the most respected figures in European football and while the Italian does still have a year remaining on his deal, he is being courted by a number of clubs across Europe at the moment.
Wednesday are very keen on recruiting Angeloni and now according to reports, the Championship side have launched their pursuit. However, the Owls will surely face tough competition in their bid to sign Angeloni as even the likes of Roma and Torino are said to be interested.
