It is safe to say that Bacary Sagna has rightfully earned a reputation as one of the best right-backs in the world, since his arrival to England in 2007.
Although, Arsenal have been going through bit of a barren run lately, the French right-back been consistently impressing with his fine performances for the Gunners over the years.
However, with Sagna’s contract at the Emirates Stadium set to expire this summer and a delay in the Frenchman signing an extension with the club, there had been intense speculation over the last few months that the 30-year old could be ending his eight-year association with the Gunners after conclusion of the current campaign.
Now, Sagna has moved on to all but confirm his exit from Arsenal by revealing that he has been unable to agree terms on a deal with the Gunners and admitted that he will most probably be leaving the club in the summer.
Speaking to europe1.fr, Sagna said, “I’m out of contract, as everyone knows. I still consider myself as an Arsenal player at present.
“But actually we had a small problem to agree (a new deal), and I don’t think I will stay at Arsenal at the end of the season.”
Since his arrival from Auxerre, Sagna has gone on to amass over 250 appearances for the Gunners and has been an integral part of Arsene Wenger’s plans.
As a result, the potential loss of Sagna will serve as a huge blow for Arsenal and Wenger will certainly have a tough task on his hands to find an able replacement for the French international.
