Norwich City manager Alex Neil has dropped a huge hint that he will look to reignite interest in Everton outcast Steven Naismith in January
Norwich City have made a positive impact since their promotion into the Premier League but the Canaries have recently been dragged into the relegation mire following a run of poor results.
While many feel that Norwich still stand a very good chance of avoiding the drop due to the fact that the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle United have been terrible, the Canaries most certainly need to improve their fortunes on the pitch sooner rather than later so as to avoid falling into the relegation zone.
Norwich have proven themselves to be a very solid side but they are evidently lacking that bit of spark in attack and manager Alex Neil has gone on to publicly admit that he will be looking to strengthen his offensive ranks upon the reopening of the January transfer window.
Now as a potential attacking target for Norwich, Neil has gone on to hint that he is looking at the possibility of making a move for long time target Steven Naismith.
Neil said, “Steven was one we looked at in the summer but it doesn’t necessarily mean we are looking at him still. We have our targets we have discussed, that plan is in place and we will set about trying to get it done.
“I am not going to get into specifics about individual players. The fact is he is an Everton player so it is unfair for me to comment. We have our targets and we are looking at quite a few areas.
“There was business we were looking to do in the summer and we found it quite tough to get players in for a variety of reasons so come January we will be looking to add, but the same rules apply in terms of what is available and who you can get across the line and in the door.”
