Newcastle United FC courting Michael Bradley

Premier League side Newcastle United are reportedly planning a swoop for United States international Michael Bradley.

Newcastle United season has collapsed quite dramatically following the exit of manager Alan Pardew and the defeat against fierce rivals Sunderland this weekend means that the Magpies do not have much to play for from now till the end of the season.

Overall, it has proven to be another mediocre campaign for Newcastle so far and consequently, owner Mike Ashley has indicated that he will be looking to invest in the squad during the summer in order to reinvigorate his side.

A new manager to replace John Carver looks very likely and one can be sure that a host of new faces will be arriving at St. James’ Park as well.

While there is still quite a lot of time left before the conclusion of the campaign, a couple of names have already started being linked with the North East outfit and now according to reports, it has been claimed that the Magpies will be looking to sign American international Michael Bradley in the summer.

Star man Moussa Sissoko is all but certain to leave Newcastle and the Magpies are said to be already planning for life without their dynamic midfielder. Replacing such an integral player will certainly be a huge ask but Newcastle are not standing on ceremony and will reportedly be pursuing Bradley.

Bradley only joined Toronto FC in 2014 but a move back to Europe has been touted for the midfielder and the Premier League has been seen as a realistic destination. However, it remains to be seen for what fee Toronto will be willing to part with their key player – especially just over a year after investing $10million on his services.

Bradley has played for the likes of Roma, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Chievo and even Aston Villa previously, and if indeed Newcastle are able to lure the 27-year old to St. James’ Park, he would be a good acquisition for the club.
