By Staff Writer  |  April 14, 2015

Slavisa Jokanovic has admitted for the first time he has no idea if he will be at Watford next season.

The Hornets boss has guided the club to the brink of promotion to the Premier League but has been given no assurances about his future at Vicarage Road.

The 46-year-old former Chelsea midfielder took the reins in October and has guided the Hornets to within sight of automatic promotion. They  currently sit level on points with second-placed Norwich with four games to go.

They briefly topped the table on Easter Monday and there is a real feeling amongst fans he will steer them back to the Premier League for the third time in their history.

Yet he has revealed the club have had no  talks with him about a new contract or whether he will need to prepare for the new season at the club – or find a new job!.

Watford could guarantee a place in the play offs if they win at Nottingham Forest on Wedesday night and Jokanoic is concentrating fully on the end of season campaign before talking about his ow destiny.

Yet asked about his future, he admitted:  “This is not a question for me. It’s a question for the office.

“I don’t start to prepare for next season. I don’t start to prepare for a Championship season or a Premier League season.

“It’s real life. In real life it’s today, tomorrow and next week in front of us. We finish this season and then I’m going to ask them if they prepare something for next season or not.

“It’s not important. What’s important is the big target. There are a thousand coaches that exist in the world and Watford can try and find another solution if they are not happy with me.”

If results go their way, Watford could secure themselves a place in the Championship play-offs by beating Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Wednesday.
