Championship high flyers Hull City have emerged as the favourites to secure the services of Fulham striker Ross McCormack, according to reports
Ross McCormack has made it clear in no uncertain terms that he wants to leave Fulham during the January transfer window and after having handed in a transfer request, it looked like the 29-year old would be off to Middlesbrough.
However, Middlesbrough are now unlikely to be pursuing the services of McCormack as they have already agreed a deal to sign Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn Rovers for big money.
Despite Middlesbrough withdrawing from the race, there is still a strong possibility that McCormack will be leaving Fulham before the window slams shut in a couple of days’ time as a number of clubs remain interested in the striker and now according to reports, it can be revealed that Hull City are frontrunners to complete the deal.
Hull City manager Steve Bruce is looking to boost his side’s promotion aspirations with the addition of a prolific striker and with Middlesbrough having cooled their interest in McCormack, the Tigers’ boss is now looking to ramp up his bid to sign the Scottish international.
It is believed that Hull are ready to meet Fulham’s £9million valuation of McCormack and if indeed the Tigers are able to pull off the deal, it will be a huge boost to their bid to earn promotion back into the Premier League.
