‘Miracle Man’ Tony Pulis has made an instant impact on the pitch since his appointment as manager of West Bromwich Albion and the 57-year old is now also hoping to make a similar impact on the transfer market before the end of the month as he looks to equip his Baggies’ side well enough to be able to stave off relegation.
Therefore, it has been no surprise to see a host of names being linked with a move to West Brom over the past few weeks or so and one can certainly expect a couple of players to arrive through the doors of the Hawthorns within the coming days.
The attacking department seems to be one area Pulis is looking to reinforce and recent reports have claimed that the Baggies boss is eyeing a short term move for Shola Ameobi
Apart from Ameobi, Pulis has made it no secret of his desire to add a winger as well and has been publicly pursuing Wigan Athletic man Callum McManaman. However, Wigan seem to be playing hardball with West Brom over McManaman and have so far rebuffed the Baggies’ attempts to sign the winger.
Tony Pulis looking to strengthen his side by signing Moses Odubajo |
While Pulis seems to be intent on landing McManaman, he is also said to be looking at alternatives if indeed the move for the Wigan winger does not come to fruition and it can now be revealed that young Moses Odubajo has been seen as an option by the Welsh manager.
Odubajo is a talented young player who has been highly rated ever since he broke into the scene for Leyton Orient as a teenager a few seasons ago and he has since gone on from strength to strength to flourish into one of the hottest properties in English football in recent times.
Odubajo only earned a move to Championship side Brentford over the summer and he has been one of the shining lights for the Bees in their fantastic season so far, making 25 league appearances and scoring 2 goals.
The young man’s fine performances have led to admiring glances from a host of top flight clubs and Winner Sports can reveal that West Bromwich Albion are considering making a move for the 21-year old as an alternative to McManaman.
Brentford would most certainly be reluctant to part with Odubajo as they stand a great chance of making it into the playoff positions but the Baggies are ready to test the Bees’ resolve by offering a bid in the region of around £3-5million and such an offer could most certainly turn the Championship high flyers’ head.
