Derby County are all but certain to secure the services of Marcus Olsson from Blackburn Rovers, according to reports from the Lancashire Telegraph
Derby County are finally set to end their search for a new left back by securing the services of Marcus Olsson.
Having failed with their bid for Hull City star Andrew Robertson, Derby had focused their attention on signing Olsson instead and are now on the verge of securing the services of the Swedish international.
Olsson’s contract at Blackburn was set to expire at the end of the current campaign and having refused to sign an extension, it was widely believed that the defender would be leaving Ewood Park during the January transfer window.
Recently, Blackburn manager Paul Lambert had confirmed that Olsson had been subject to a ‘really good deal’ and the transfer coming into fruition was a huge possibility.
Lambert had said, “Another club has come in. Obviously Markus is out of contract and, if we get the money, then it’s going to be a really good deal for the club because he is out of contract and he can walk away for nothing (in the summer). The money is good for somebody who is going to be out of contract.”
Derby have now been revealed as the team who are set to sign Olsson and the transfer fee is believed to be in the region of around £1million.
