Championship outfit Derby County are set to make a swoop for Bristol City attacker Jonathan Kodjia, according to reports
Derby County recently appointed Nigel Pearson as manager and the Rams’ faithful are now optimistic that the 52-year-old will be able to guide the club to promotion into the Premier League next season.
However, Pearson most does not have a magic wand to guide Derby into the top flight and he will surely need to strengthen the squad in order to achieve such an ambition.
A number of players have started being linked with a move to Derby since the appointment of Pearson and it can now be revealed that the former Leicester City boss is plotting a move to sign Jonathan Kodjia.
Kodjia was signed by Bristol City only last summer and he proved to be one of the signings of the season, scoring 19 goals in all competitions.
Due to his brilliant form, Kodjia has attracted the interest from a number of clubs from the Championship as well as abroad and recent reports claim that the 26-year-old is being closely courted by Derby.
Derby are believed to be ready to splash as much as £4 million to sign Kodjia this summer and Bristol will surely be tempted by the offer for their £1.7 million acquisition.
