Lloyd Isgrove has admitted that he is ready to leave Southampton for Barnsley on a permanent deal
Isgrove has always been regarded as a very talented young player by Southampton but after breaking into the Saints’ first team as a teenager a couple of seasons ago, the midfielder has not quite been able to fulfill his immense promise.
In search for regular first team football, Isgrove made a move to League One outfit Barnsley last summer and he played a crucial role in helping the Tykes earn promotion into the Premier League, via the Championship.
Having enjoyed such a fruitful spell at Oakwell, Isgrove has now gone on to reveal that he is currently assessing his options and would be open to making a move back to Barnsley on a permanent basis.
Isgrove told The Sheffield Star, “Obviously I’ve got another year there [Southampton], but we’ll see what happens in the summer. But it’s been a great season and I’m happy I’ve been able to help Barnsley get back in the Championship.
“I’ll assess my options definitely [about coming back]. If they come in for me and the offer’s right they’ll have to speak to Southampton, but I don’t see why not.”
