Burnley and Bournemouth are involved in a head to head battle to secure the services of Kevin Nolan according to reports
Kevin Nolan is currently a free agent after having his contract terminated by West Ham United over the summer.
At 33, Nolan is no longer the player he used to be but there is no denying the fact that the midfielder still has some mileage left on his legs and a host of Championship clubs were said to be interested in signing the former Hammers’ skipper since his release.
A move back to boyhood club Bolton Wanderers was seen as a possibility for Nolan while even Cardiff City were said to be interested in making a swoop for the experienced star.
However neither transfer looks likely to come into fruition due to the financial constraints of the two clubs and Nolan remains a free agent.
Nolan is not short of admirers though and it has now been claimed that the duo of Burnley and Bournemouth have expressed their interest in signing the midfielder.
Burnley recently completed the controversial signing of Joey Barton and the Clarets are hopeful of reuniting the 32-year old with former Newcastle teammate Nolan in a bid to aid their promotion hopes.
As for Bournemouth, they are looking to add more Premier League experience into their squad and Nolan has been seen as a possible short term option by the Cherries.
