Arsenal FC to make a shock swoop for M’Bia

Arsenal fans are undoubtedly happy with the business their side have conducted so far this summer following the captures of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers and David Ospina, and everyone associated with the Gunners are certainly heading into the upcoming campaign full of optimism.

With two weeks to go before the transfer window slams shut, manager Arsene Wenger has indicated that he is still looking to recruit a couple of new players to the Emirates Stadium.

Following the loss of Thomas Vermaelen, a central defender looks a priority for the Gunners while a new holding midfielder is also expected to arrive. Sami Khedira was widely touted to make a move to Arsenal but the German international has been made unavailable by Real Madrid and as a result, Wenger has been forced to switch his attentions elsewhere.

Wenger plotting a shock swoop for Stephane M’Bia

In a surprise move, it can now be revealed that the Gunners’ manager has set his sights on signing former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stephane M’Bia.

The Cameroonian international is currently a free transfer following his release by the Hoops this summer and it is believed that Wenger is looking to recruit the services of the 28-year old.

M’Bia could prove to be astute signing for Arsenal

M’Bia was a huge flop during his spell with QPR two years ago and Arsenal fans will understandably not be too excited to be linked with the midfielder.

That being said, M’Bia did manage to restore his reputation following his loan spell with Spanish side Sevilla last season, where he played an important role in the club’s Europa league triumph, and could prove to be an astute signing by Wenger.

If indeed the surprise transfer does come into fruition, M’Bia will be bringing a wealth of experience to the Emirates Stadium and his versatility in being able to play in midfield as well as in defence could go a long way in adding depth to the Arsenal squad.
