Man City FC’s Edin Dzeko set for Roma move

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko is on the verge of completing a move to Italian giants Roma, according to reports

Despite not being a regular starter for City since his arrival from Wolfsburg back in 2011, Edin Dzeko has managed to prove that he is one of the best strikers in the world during his time at the Etihad Stadium so far.

However due to the presence of the likes of Sergio Aguero and Wilfried Bony at City, Dzeko is unlikely to receive much playing time during the upcoming Premier League campaign as well and it has widely been reported that the striker will be leaving the English giants this summer.

Dzeko on his way to Roma

A host of clubs are understandably keen on signing Dzeko but Roma have long been touted as favourites to win the race to sign the Bosnian international and it has now been revealed that the Italian giants are on the verge of securing his services.

According to reports emerging out of Italy, it has been claimed that Roma have agreed terms with Dzeko over a five year deal worth £3.2million-per-season and are currently negotiating on a fee with Manchester City.

It is believed that Roma are confident on agreeing a fee of around £13-15million with City over Dzeko and the move could be finalized within the next few days.

That said, the transfer for Dzeko hinges on whether or not Roma are able to sell Alessio Romagnoli to AC Milan as the Italians are looking to raise the funds to sign the City striker from the sale of the young defender.
