Leicester City have begun talks with Jamie Vardy’s representatives over a new contract, according to reports from ESPN
Leicester City have enjoyed a stunning start to their Premier League campaign so far and it is obvious to see that the Foxes’ wonderful run of form has been due to the goalscoring exploits of star striker Jamie Vardy.
Vardy has managed 14 goals in as many appearances so far this season and he recently created history by becoming the first player in the Premier League to find the back of the net on 11 consecutive appearances.
Such a wonderful run of form has understandably led to a host of clubs expressing their interest in signing Vardy and the 28-year old has recently been linked with a £30million move to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.
Despite the widespread interest, Leicester are keen on keeping hold of Vardy and now according to reports from ESPN, the Foxes are pulling out all the stops to ensure that the striker stays put at the King Power Stadium by offering him a lucrative new contract.
Vardy only signed a four year deal with Leicester last year but in order to fend off the growing list of suitors, the Premier League leaders are planning to double the 28-year old’s current terms.
