Spanish defender Inigo Calderon is set to leave Championship outfit Brighton and Hove Albion this summer, according to reports emerging out of England
Brighton and Hove Albion cruelly missed out on automatic promotion into the Premier League by the slightest of margins and then went on to suffer a devastating loss in the Championship playoff semi finals against Sheffield Wednesday recently.
Fans of Brighton are understandably inconsolable at the moment but the Seagulls should certainly be very proud of the positive campaign they have just enjoyed.
One can be sure that manager Chris Hughton will now be more determined than ever to earn promotion next season and strengthening the squad will be high on the agenda for the 57-year-old.
At the same time, it will be crucial for Brighton to keep hold of their key players and as a huge blow for the club, revelations have been made that star defender Inigo Calderon is currently considering a move away from the Falmer Stadium.
Calderon has been a key figure in the Brighton side since joining the club from Spanish outfit Alaves back in the summer of 2010 and has made close to 230 appearances during his time with the Seagulls.
However, Calderon has struggled for regular minutes during the second half of the campaign and it has been claimed that the 34-year-old is now eyeing an exit from Brighton this summer, with a number of Championship and League One clubs interested in his services.
