Nigel Pearson is considering legal action following his sacking as Leicester boss.

Winner Sports understands the decision to axe Pearson on Tuesday night was not football related and he is weighing up his options.

Usually when a manager is sacked, a compensation package is quickly arranged. But Pearson looks to have been dismissed for a range of off the field incidents.

He was involved in an altercation with a fan, had a touchline tussle with Crystal Palace’s James McArthur and then had a run in with a journalist.

His son James was part of a trio of Leicester players sacked after a racist sex video on a club tour of Thailand.

A Leicester source told us: “This is a complicated issue but came completely out of the blue. Nigel is consulting with lawyers and the League Managers Association.

“We understand he feels this has nothing to do with football after he kept the club in the Premier League against the odds.”

It would not be the first time in recent years a manager has sought legal action after his sacking. Malky Mackay did the same after his dismissal at Cardiff, although an arrangement was made and he backed down.

The decision to axe Pearson came after he was sacked for the incident involving McArthur last season but was overturned in a matter of hours.

Pearson has had a deteriorating relationship between the club’s owners despite guiding them from bottom place to finish 14th last season.

The Thailand owners feel he has damaged the club’s reputation which is why he is considering legal action to clear his name.
