The British transfer window is about to open and Arsenal look set to make some big moves in the coming days. It’s understood Arsene Wenger has been given a transfer kitty of around £60m.
Everton’s towering power-house midfielder Marouane Fellaini is a key target for Wenger and he could be ready to trigger the £24million release clause in the Belgium internationals contract.
Everton have already rejected a bid from Manchester United today for England international Leighton Baines and will have no desire to lose their two best assets. But they will have no say in the matter should Marouane Fellaini make it clear he wants to leave Goodison & Arsenal trigger his £24million release clause.
The Gunners are also finalising a deal for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain who is set to become Wengers first major signing of the summer.
Gonzalo Higuain’s brother has confirmed a deal is imminent;
‘If Tevez joins Juve, is Higuain closer to Arsenal? I think so.
‘Juventus is a great club, but Gonzalo is too expensive for them.
‘Napoli are a strong team. Having said that, I cannot deny that Gonzalo is now close to Arsenal.’
The fee for Higuain is thought to be in the region of £23m and he is expected to be on £150,000-a-week at the Emirates.
